Why use Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint?

  • This paint is clay based. No latex or acrylic.
  • It has no odor. The only thing you smell is a slight earthy tone,
  • No VOC’s. Safe to use inside your home. This is a biggy for me as I paint in my basement.
  • No special prep needed. Just clean your piece and paint way.
  • No primer needed unless the piece is cherry or mahogany or has years of polish in it.
  • No sanding needed unless the surface is peeling.
  • Can be thinned up to 10 times which means you can use in a sprayer,
  • Dries fast.
  • Because water reactivates the paint you can distress with a warm wet cloth or 220 sand paper easily.
  • Because it it full of pigment two coats will do it most of the time. Dark colors maybe just one and white over dark maybe 3.
  • Colors can be blended easily. Spray with a misting bottle and smoothly blend one color into another.
  • Clean up is easy because the clay based paint comes out of your brushes easily with warm soapy water. This helps keep your expensive brushes useable for a long time.
  • There are 42 colors.
  • Our wax has no petroleum products so it is soft, buttery and doesn’t stink.
  • We have a line of sealers, patinas, powdered pigments and more to enhance any project.
